Getting Started with PDF Splitting

Step 1: Upload Your PDF

Start by uploading the PDF you want to split. You can drag and drop your file directly onto the upload area or click to browse your computer. The tool works with PDF files up to 200MB in size.

Once uploaded, the tool will automatically detect how many pages are in your document and show you this information.

Step 2: Choose Your Splitting Method

You have two main options for splitting your PDF:

  • Single Range: Extract one continuous section of pages (like pages 5-12)
  • Multiple Ranges: Extract several different sections at once (like pages 1-3, 7-9, and 15-20)

For multiple ranges, you can choose whether to download each range as a separate file or merge them into one PDF.

Step 3: Set Your Page Ranges

Specify which pages you want to extract:

  • Enter the starting page number in the "Start Page" field
  • Enter the ending page number in the "End Page" field
  • For multiple ranges, click "Add Range" to create additional sections
  • The tool will automatically suggest the next logical page range

Make sure your page numbers are valid and don't exceed the total number of pages in your document.

Step 4: Process and Download

Click the "Split PDF" button to process your document. The tool will:

  • Extract the pages you specified from your original PDF
  • Create a new PDF file with just those pages
  • Provide you with a download link for the split document
  • For multiple ranges, either merge them into one file or provide separate downloads

Processing usually takes just a few seconds, depending on your file size and the number of pages being extracted.

Helpful Tips for Better Results

  • • Double-check your page numbers before processing - the tool will warn you if ranges are invalid
  • • For large documents, consider splitting into smaller chunks to avoid timeouts
  • • Use the "Merge extracted ranges" option when you want all your selected pages in one file
  • • If you need pages 1-5 and 10-15, create two separate ranges rather than trying to skip pages
  • • The original file stays untouched - you'll get a completely new PDF with just the pages you selected
  • • Page numbers start from 1, not 0, so the first page is page 1
